 November 12, 2007

Foucault Society Board Member Skiing to the South Pole to Raise Funds

J.  Armand Musey, Treasurer of the Board of the Foucault Society will be Skiing to the South Pole to raise funds for the Society. He will be leaving for Puenta Arenas, Argentina on December 1st. From there, he will fly to Patriot Hills base camp in Antarctica and then to the 89th degree latitude. Starting from the 89th degree latitude his team will ski to the South Pole, hoping to arrive on December 13th. The distance is approximately 60 nautical miles (approximately 70 US miles).

We encourage those interested in post-modern philosophy education in general, and those interested in Foucault in particular, to sponsor his walk on a "per nautical mile" basis. For example, one dollar per mile would be a $60 donation.

If you are interested you can send a check to "The Foucault Society, LTD" 215 East 80th Street, Suite 7J, New York, NY 10075 or pay by credit card of Pay Pal at www.foucaultsociety.org.

All donations will go to the society and will not be used to offset the cost of the trip. The Foucault Society is a New York non-profit organization and all donations are tax deducable under 501 (c) 3 rules.
