Symposia + Happenings

The Foucault Society organizes events of various types, sizes, duration, and locations to create the widest variety of forums possible. As with all of the Society's activities a balance is maintained between the academic and praxis. The Society is international in scope and its events and topics build on that strength. Ideas for events and helping with either planning or participation are always welcome.

In May 2005, the Society hosted the symposium Foucault Now! at the Theresa Lang Center at The New School for Social Research in New York. In 2006, it hosted The Body: Ethos and Ethics, a three-day international conference on the human body and gender, at The New School and Hunter College in New York.
